In my paintings I explore issues of feminine identity and interplay between the sexes. I interested in the changing roles, images and meanings of what it is to be a woman in contemporary Eastern Europe society. Often using my own image as a springboard, I draw on psychoanalysis, sociology and popular culture in order to investigate, question and depict a more general picture of the modern woman. In this way, I am able to give my personality new forms, dividing, multiplying myself. I try on different personalities like clothes, never once finding one that can be said to fit just right, for all time.
